Build an equipment interface sheet
For each instrument, record the manufacturer, model, dimensions, operating weight, centre of gravity where relevant, support points, adjustable feet, access panels, and any separate computer, pump, cylinder, or accessory.
Attach the current manufacturer installation information and identify data that still requires confirmation. Do not convert shipping dimensions or approximate catalogue values into final workstation dimensions.

Map the complete operating zone
Show where the operator stands or sits, how samples and consumables arrive, where outputs are reviewed, and which doors, lids, trays, or accessories move during operation.
Include reach, sightline, knee-space, task-lighting, noise, waste, and cleaning needs. Workstation height and depth should follow the approved equipment and user review rather than an assumed universal dimension.

Coordinate services and environmental needs
List power quality, sockets, data, gases, water, drainage, ventilation, heat rejection, cable management, and any environmental condition supplied by the responsible project team.
Review how cables, hoses, and exhaust connections move during service. Keep isolators and access panels reachable, and separate sensitive equipment from known sources of vibration, heat, moisture, or traffic where the project review requires it.

Plan for maintenance and change
Confirm how the instrument is delivered, lifted, installed, calibrated, serviced, and eventually replaced. The replacement route can be more restrictive than the normal operating footprint.
Where future equipment is unknown, document the design allowance rather than claiming universal compatibility. Any load, vibration, or environmental performance should be verified for the selected workstation configuration.
