Panel or metal type alone does not define the completed cabinet. Thickness, reinforcement, joints, welds, fasteners, edge treatment, coatings, hinges, slides, handles, levelling, and back or service access all affect use and maintenance.

Ask for the proposed construction and finish schedule at the same level of detail used to approve the elevations.

Discuss how scratches, chips, corrosion, swollen edges, failed hardware, or damaged panels would be inspected and repaired. Availability of replacement finishes and components can matter during the operating life.

Approve exact descriptions and evidence

The final schedule should identify the selected material, construction, coating or finish, color, hardware, interfaces, and limitations. Samples should be referenced to the approved schedule rather than accepted as an isolated color chip.

If a project requests a standard, test report, certification, or equivalent product, verify the document source, validity, tested construction, and scope before making a compliance statement.
